Antique Car and Tractor Show at Flowers Plantation in Clayton, NC.
There was a great display of antique cars and tractors at the rear of Percy Flowers Store and the intersection of Hwy 42 East and Buffalo rd. yesterday. The setting on one of the ponds in Flowers Plantation was ideal and the lucky folks who were there got a chance to ride in a old Model T Ford or on the rear of a massive old tractor around the beautiful pond path.
There was a couple of music acts, that I wish I could have stayed for, banjo, fiddles, guitars all good stuff. There was an Army jeep that the owner told me he had found in France, being used by the local fire chief to scoot around town with. He went on to say that the US Army left many pieces of equipment like that in France and throughout Europe.
He also had very cool old weapons and helmets and a flame thrower (gotta get me one of those!), the amazing thing was that everything had been restored to working order. Rory, being the gun fanatic was in heaven!
