And why not, after all, Raleigh has some of the best THINGS that High Tech companies need. People… who know what they are talking about, and then, more people who know what they are talking about, followed up by people who know what they are talking about and want to buy what they are talking about!!! Then you need somewhere nice for them to live, Silicon Valley is nice but I hear it’s expensive,  not so in Raleigh, not so in North Carolina. I mean what good is a great job if you have to commute for hours or if your mortgage payment is a blood-letting?

Raleigh has a brain pool with NC State, UNC Chapel Hill, Duke, Research Triangle Park ( full of brainy people), stellar hospitals like Wake-Med (full disclosure here, my wife is a nurse there), Rex, Duke, UNC. How about Campbell Law School Re-Located to Downtown Raleigh recently? Speaking of Research Triangle Park, you’ve heard of IBM, Cisco, Bayer,Fidelity Investments,Glaxo Smith Cline,DuPont, The American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists……Huh? RTP has over 170 global companies in a broad spectrum of industries, health care, technology, financial services, biotechnology, clean technologies.

In and around Raleigh and the surrounding towns, there are multiple options for home buying, very cool downtown high rise condos with spectacular views and a typical city lifestyle of restaurants, bars, museums, plus parks, miles of greenways. There is also North Hills a very fashionable area with a mixture of apartments, townhomes, single family homes. Five Points, lots of re-furbished single family homes.
