The Village Marketplace in Clayton at Flowers Plantation is a treasure for this area of Clayton/Flowers Plantation with an amazing selection of local and not so local specialties like Roll Butter, made by the Amish in Ohio (more about that later), soaps, jams, pottery and sports memorabilia.
The owner is Steve Eason, whose daughter Jennifer coincidentally is a former client of mine, and he has done a nice job adding a wonderful selection of edible delights and handcrafted wooden and ceramic artistic creations. They have a section in the store devoted to soaps and lotions and all are made in NC, in fact Anderson Street Soap & Nutrition Company a local Clayton company known the world over is stocked here.
There is amazing pottery from Berry Towne Crafts, artisan pottery made by the residents of the O’Berry Center in Goldsboro, a provider of services for people with developmental disabilities.
Steve has a wildly colorful collection of bird and butterfly houses that you can’t miss as you drive by on NC Hwy 42 East. They will brighten any yard instantly. He also has a collection of Corn Hole Toss Games in the local team colors, Duke, Carolina, State, ECU, and they can be special ordered with the logo of your favorite team. A popular request with so many folks moving to the area of Flowers Plantation and Clayton.
They have Blue Ridge Jams from Dana NC, famous Atkinsons Milling Co products from just down the road in Selma, local Honey, Produce and hickory smoked bacon from Amish farms in Ohio, Black Buggy Soups!
